Hotcards Open House

Thanks to all who attended!

On Friday, June 6th, we held a little open house event to show our appreciation for the employees, vendors, and customers that make Hotcards great! The who's who of the full color printing world were in attendance, and we all had a blast!

It was so cool to meet and mingle with the many amazing people involved with Hotcards in some way. If I had to use one word to describe the event, it would be: DIVERSITY.

There is almost no business, professional, or demographic of society that doesn't need full color printing at some point. Magazines and web designers, deejays and club owners, banks and museums – you name 'em, they ate sushi together at the Hotcards open house.

One of the highlights of the night was that we had our entire printing operation running, which means that people got to walk around and watch direct mail being addressed; they got to see the big gang-run sheets come smokin' off the printers; and they got to see printing being folded and die-cut.

A lot of the full color printing that came off the press that night also went home with guests in gift bags at the end of the night – calendars, folders, posters, and other souvenirs were provided – but more on that later.

The life of the event – as usual – was Hotcards founder and CEO, Columbus Woodruff. Throughout the course of the night, Columbus gave out two all-expense-paid trips to the Bahamas to two of our most long-standing, much-loved clients. A ton of great prizes were also given out in co-operation with our awesome sponsors. Most notably, Hotcards and Graphco gave away two beautiful new scooters!

Unfortunately, Hotcards employees we not allowed to win the scooters, which means I'll keep driving my beat-up little Honda Rukus for now. But the really cool thing about the giveaway was that it represented an eco-friendly transportation alternative. Like eco-friendly full color printing, scooters are the wave of the future!

But I'll keep the green printing lecture short today, and finish with a big THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who attended. Thank you to our amazingly generous sponsors! Thank you to awesome DJ Terry Urban, who played something for everyone! And thank you to all the Hotcards folks who worked their butts off all night making sure everyone had a good time.

You guys make it look so easy – hey, maybe we should do the open house thing every weekend!
